This week I have been working on printing yardage. I plan to construct an easy pattern for making the yardage into something after printing. This yardage test would also allow me to experiment with an alternative steaming method, and practice printing patterns. I came up with a wheat pattern that makes diamond shapes.

I made up a fresh batch of gum tragacanth print paste and then added black walnut sludge to it to make a brown color.

Stretching the fabric helps keep the little kinks out when you print on the table. This fabric I am using is an old sheet from the thrift store that was scoured and mordanted.
